We decided to create a vacation home because of the importance of family and the memories we’ve built in similar places. Growing up, I (Abby) spent summers in Pennsylvania visiting extended family. These family trips are some of my most cherished memories. I always dreamed of having a place where families could come together like that- sharing laughter and adventure. Joel’s childhood was filled with annual trips to Canada, where he developed a love for swimming, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. Together, we wanted to create a space where families could reconnect with nature and each other, just like we did growing up. That’s why we built Honey Bear Hideaway — to help others create lasting memories in a place where they can relax and enjoy time together.
